What Is This Event?

The Art and Science of Love is a live, two-day virtual workshop for couples based on over 50 years of Gottman research into what makes relationships thrive. Through engaging presentations, guided exercises, live Q&A, and private therapist support, you’ll learn practical, research-based skills to strengthen friendship, deepen intimacy, and manage conflict more effectively.
Created and hosted by Dr. John Gottman and Dr. Julie Gottman, this workshop has helped millions of couples worldwide and has been shown to produce results comparable to six months of couples therapy, with 94% of participants reporting positive outcomes.

Learn to recognize the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and what to do if they are attacking your marriage

Who Is This Workshop For?

This workshop is designed for ALL couples in a committed relationship. You do not need to be married.

  • For those in strong, stable relationships: this workshop will provide you with insights and tools to foster further closeness, friendship, and trust.
  • For those in distressed relationships: this two-day workshop will provide you with a greater understanding of your relationship and a road map for repair.
 
There is no public discussion or disclosure, so your relationship details are kept private. All work is done as a couple and Gottman-trained therapists are available to support one-on-one during exercises.
 
Note: This educational workshop may not be appropriate for couples dealing with addiction, domestic violence, or other serious relationship issues. In those situations, we recommend seeking counseling with a Gottman-trained therapist.

The Art and Science of Love is a renowned relationship workshop created by Dr. John Gottman and Dr. Julie Gottman, leading experts in the field of couples therapy and research. It is a two-day intensive program designed to help couples strengthen their bond, enhance their communication, and deepen their emotional connection. 

This workshop incorporates both art and science, blending evidence-based research with practical techniques and interactive exercises. You will learn valuable skills to manage conflict, nurture fondness and admiration, and build trust and intimacy.

All couples receive a physical workshop materials box to support their learning and continued growth together.

There are no prerequisites to attending a couples workshop. The workshop is self-contained and is appropriate even if you’ve never heard of the Gottmans and their work. Some find it helpful to peruse the information and videos on our website, but even this is not required.
