The Gottman Institute is excited to host a two-day hybrid retreat to celebrate all things Gottman! With the option to attend either in person or online, the Gottman 2026 Retreat is open to anyone interested in immersing themselves in a Gottman learning experience.

With over 18-acres to explore, Cedarbrook Lodge is an urban oasis just 10 minutes by complimentary shuttle to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. With an award-winning virtual moderator, you will be included in the interactive, inspiring, and thoughtful presentations. Virtual participation is carefully designed and curated to make you feel like you’re with us at Cedarbrook Lodge. We will also host two virtual, attendance-only networking events during the lunch breaks!
*The Gottman 2026 Retreat is hosted on the Zoom Events platform. There are certain geographic limitations for international attendees. Please review this Zoom Events article to learn more.

Refund & Cancellation Policy
In-Person Events & Retreats
We are unable to offer monetary refunds for in-person registrations.
Cancellations made at least 30 days prior to the event are eligible for transfer to the online event. There is a store credit for the difference, minus a $50 administration fee.
- Within 30 days of the event, registrations are non-refundable and not eligible for a credit. Our event venue needs a headcount. We will transfer access to the virtual event.
If you’re unable to attend, you may:
- Transfer your registration to another participant for a $50 transfer fee, or
- Convert your registration to the online version of the event, which includes access to the full online course and event experience.

All online event registrations are non-refundable, as participants receive:

Registration & Access
What is included in Gottman 2026 Retreat registration?
- In-Person registration includes access to each session, breakfast, snacks, lunch, and continuing education (CE) credits. Attendance is taken for CE eligibility. Travel and overnight accommodations are not included.
- Virtual registration includes virtual access to each session, virtual networking events each day, and continuing education (CE) credits. Attendance is taken for CE eligibility.
Can I switch from virtual to in-person (or vice versa)?
Yes, you can switch from in-person to virtual. However, in-person attendance is based on room capacity.
What is the deadline to register?
Deadline to register for virtual attendance is November 12, 2026, at 11:45pm.
In-Person registration deadline is October 12, 2026. However, please note that in-person registration is limited by room capacity.
Are there any geographical restrictions to registration and access?
Yes. The Gottman Institute is utilizing Zoom Events to host the retreat. Zoom Events has its own geographic requirements to attend paid events. You can learn more here: Geographic availability for attendees of paid Zoom Events
Will sessions be recorded and available after the event?
Yes, you will have access for the foreseeable future, as long as they are hosted by Zoom.com and The Gottman Institute.
Can I log in with a group?
Attendance is taken via your Zoom log-in. Although you can watch as a group, you will need to log in via your own registration to receive Continuing Education credits.

Is parking available?
Yes, parking is available. There is a fee for overnight parking, but day parking is included with your attendance.
Are hotel room blocks or discounted rates available at Cedarbrook Lodge?
We have a limited number of rooms available via the room block. Please contact the hotel directly for details.
Can I bring additional guests?
Guests at the retreat must be paid attendees. There is limited seating, and the venue has a headcount for food preparation.
What airport should I fly into? Is there a shuttle?
If you are flying in, the nearest hotel is Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. There is a shuttle that runs to the hotel. Please contact Cedarbrook Lodge’s guest services directly for more information.

What should I wear (dress code)?
The dress code is business casual, emphasizing comfortable attire. Please remember that Seattle embraces a relaxed style. Dress in what you believe is appropriate for a professional environment. Additionally, we cannot directly control the heating or AC. We recommend dressing in layers.
Are dietary restrictions accommodated?
Cedarbrook Lodge will provide heart-healthy vegetarian options. Although kosher food is not available, you may bring it on-site. Please contact Cedarbrook Lodge directly for more information.
Is the venue ADA accessible?
Yes! Cedarbrook Lodge has ramps, elevators, and signage throughout the venue. Please contact Cedarbrook Lodge directly for specific venue accommodations. For The Gottman Institute’s retreat, we will primarily be in The Summit Room. Please let us know if you need any accommodations, and we will assist you. Some examples of such accommodations include reserved seating in your preferred location, assistance reaching your seat, and more.

Virtual Experience (Zoom Events)
How do I access the event on Zoom Events?
You will register for the Gottman 2026 Retreat directly on the Zoom platform. Please make sure you add the event to your calendar. You will access the retreat through the Zoom link provided to your registration email.
Do I need to download anything in advance?
We will provide the presentation slides, which are optional to download.
What are the technical requirements to attend (internet speed, browser, etc.)?
The Gottman Institute is utilizing Zoom for the Gottman 2026 Retreat. Please review the technical requirements outlined on Zoom’s website for more information: Zoom system requirements: Zoom Web App
Will I be able to interact during the retreat (Q&A, chat, networking)?
Yes! The Gottman Institute will have a moderator throughout the retreat, including virtual attendees. We will be using Zoom Meeting, which includes chat, emojis, microphone controls, and more. We will also be hosting an exclusive networking event for virtual attendees from 12:20-1:05pm Pacific Time each day of the retreat – Connect With Others. This will primarily be an open forum for connecting and interacting with other attendees.
What happens if I lose connection during a session?
You can rejoin the session if you are able to regain connection. Please double-check that your WiFi or ethernet cable internet connection is strong before the event begins to help prevent a lost connection.
Additionally, we are recoding the sessions. You will be able to review the recording after the event.
Can I watch sessions on-demand if I miss them live?
Yes!

Will there be breaks built into the schedule?
Yes, there will be two (2) 15-minute breaks each day and a one-hour lunch each day. See event agenda for times – All times are in Pacific Time Zone.

Are there networking opportunities for both virtual and in-person attendees?
Yes!
How large is the event (approximate number of attendees)?
In-person attendees, 120; Online attendees, 223 in 2025, we hope for even more this year! We do have a moderator for the event, and many clinical professionals are attending in person and online. You will have lots of opportunities to connect.
Continuing Education (CEs)
Are CEs included?
The event will include CEs. Partial CEs were provided based on attendance recorded within Zoom Events.
How are CEs tracked for in-person vs. virtual attendees?
Zoom Events allows us to track online attendance for each session. We will ask in-person attendees to scan a QR Code for CE attendance purposes.
How many CEs are available for this event?
Cognitive Behavioral Institute, LLC is offering Continuing Education Credits (CEs) for this course. The number is confirmed when the application is submitted. A link will be provided to participants who are eligible for CEs. CEs are optional and included in your registration. You will need to complete an individual evaluation to receive your CEs.
What happens if I miss part of a session—do I still get partial credit?
Yes, partial credit will be offered.
Are there any additional requirements (quizzes, evaluations)?
To receive CEs, you will need to complete the evaluation for the respective sessions.

Will virtual attendees have the same access to content as in-person attendees?
Yes!
Will speakers engage with both audiences equally?
We have separate moderators for the online and in-person attendees. They work together to ensure it is an engaging event for all attendees. The goal is to address questions from both audiences.

When will I receive final event details/log-in instructions?
Zoom Events will regularly send event reminders and details. If you do not receive the details prior to the event, please email training@gottman.com to troubleshoot. Keep in mind that your registration is linked to your email address, so please check your junk folder for any missed emails.
Will there be event materials or handouts provided?
Yes, these are available within Zoom Events for in-person and online attendees.
