Zach Brittle

Zach is a couples therapist in Seattle, where he has been counseling and coaching couples for nearly twenty years. He is the co-host of Marriage Therapy Radio, and a best-selling author of The Relationship Alphabet, and the Marriage Therapy Journal. Additionally, his writings and insights have been featured on the Gottman Relationship Blog, Vanity Fair, Men’s Health, Real Simple, the New York Times and the Washington Post. He has been happily married to his wife Rebecca for 23 out of 25 years. They have two adulting daughters, a mini-van, and most of the silverware they got as wedding gifts. Stacy Hubbard

Stacy Hubbard is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Gottman Therapist and Master Trainer, as well as consultant for The Gottman Institute. She earned her Master’s degree in counseling with a focus in Marriage and Family Therapy from Portland State University in 2005. She passionately pursued training and certification in the method due to the immense benefits to the couples she worked with while using the method.

Stacy has a background in adventure therapy and has worked for Outward Bound and has been an adventure guide and climbing instructor. She has also worked for over a decade in agency settings with children who have been abused and neglected.
Her time now is devoted to private practice, doing therapy with couples as well as individuals who have experienced trauma. Stacy does private therapy, marathon therapy, leads The Art and Science of Love weekend workshops, trains therapists in all levels of the Gottman Method, and serves as a consultant for therapists pursuing certification in the method. She particularly loves to help couples heal from affairs using the affair recovery model created by the Gottmans.
Stacy is currently working on creating a new workshop for The Gottman Institute, which is focused on helping single people learn how to use the method in order to create healthy relationships.

Stacy is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice in lovely Ashland, Oregon. She considers herself lucky to have discovered the Gottman Method in Graduate School at Portland State University in 2003. The method gave Stacy the framework and the tools to deal with difficult couples. She passionately pursued certification in the method because of how powerful it is. Getting the news that she had passed certification was one of the best days of her life. It has continued to be a blessing to be in this community of amazing clinicians and she has formed some very close friendships with other Certified Gottman Therapists.
She is now lucky to have the chance to lead you through certification. This is an important process, and developing a trusting rapport with you would be her privilege. Stacy has a background in athletics and she has always found as both an athlete and a coach that positive feedback and encouragement is just as crucial as the feedback on what you need to improve. Stacy is nurturing and positive and she likes to make the process fun and engaging. She wants to make your journey on the Gottman certification track as wonderful as her own was.
In addition to private couples therapy, she is also a certified EMDR therapist working with trauma survivors. Stacy also provide marathon therapy for couples, lead the Art and Science of Love couples workshops, and train therapists in the Gottman Method. Laura Heck

Laura Heck is a licensed marriage and family therapist with a private practice in Salt Lake City. She received her M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Seattle and became a Certified Gottman Therapist in 2017. Her work includes couples therapy, online counseling, workshops, speaking engagements, and teaching for The Gottman Institute.

While serving as Director of Professional Development at the Gottman Institute, Laura co-developed The Gottman Seven Principles Program together with then Clinical Director, Dr. David Penner, and authored The Seven Principles Companion Workbook. She continues as a Trainer for the program which has trained thousands of people to offer the Seven Principles Program in their communities, across six continents.
Laura is a charismatic and energetic speaker who’s love of life shines through her quirky and quick-witted presentations. Her transparency and authenticity is evident through her use of storytelling and examples of her own struggles in relationship with others. Joni holds a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction degree and is both a Master Trainer and Education Director for the Bringing Baby Home Program. She also holds certification as a Childbirth Educator and International Childbirth Association Approved Trainer. Joni is a faculty member at the Simkin Center for Allied Birth Professions at Bastyr University as well as was a Birth and Family Educator at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, WA.
She has developed, published and implemented a variety of training materials for educators interested in providing support and growth programs for families. She is married and the mother of two children.
Robert Navarra

Dr. Navarra is a Certified Gottman Therapist, Consultant, Speaker, and Level 3 Trainer. He is a popular presenter at national conferences and has trained therapists nationally and internationally. Dr. Navarra has co-authored several book chapters with Drs. John and Julie Gottman including three articles on Gottman Therapy for the Encyclopedia of Couple and Family Therapy (January 2018). Additional publications include, Systemic Addiction Treatment in Couple and Family Therapy, for the Encyclopedia of Couple and Family Therapy; Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Co-Morbidity, in Gottman Level 2 Training Manual; and Family Response to Adults and Alcohol, in Addiction Treatment Quarterly.

Dr. Navarra developed the Couple Recovery Development Approach (CRDA), a relational model of addiction assessment and treatment based on his research at Mental Research Institute in Palo Alto, California. Integrating CRDA with the Sound Relationship House model Dr. Navarra designed a two-day workshop for recovering couples, Roadmap for the Journey, and a one-day training workshop for therapists and counselors, Couples and Addiction Recovery. Dr. Navarra and Dr. John Gottman are collaborating on a randomized clinical trial of the CRDA model in treatment programs. Dr. Navarra teaches graduate classes on addictive disorders at Santa Clara University.

Robert has been in private practice for over 25 years, and now work primarily with couples. He is an Art & Science of Love Workshop Leader, and was a Gottman Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Trainer. He has had the privilege to co-author a book chapter with Dr. John Gottman, titled “Gottman Method Therapy: From Theory to Practice”, in Case Studies in Couple Therapy: Theory-Based Approaches (Carson & Casado-Kehoe, Eds., 2011).
As a Research Associate at Mental Research Institute (MRI) Robert co-founded Center for Couples in Recovery and developed the “Couple Recovery Development Approach” (CRDA), based on original, ongoing research over the last 10 years at MRI. In collaboration with Dr. John Gottman and the Relationship Research Institute and blending research models, Dr. Gottman and Robert presented a workshop, training therapists and addiction counselors in this relational approach to addiction recovery and collaborated in designing a CRDA weekend workshop for couples recovering from addiction that is now being offered in several treatment programs. CRDA will be studied in randomized clinical trials looking at outcomes of working with couples in early recovery verses standard individually-oriented recovery approaches.

Beth Goss

Beth Goss did her graduate work in Elementary Education and is a Gottman Educator and Training Specialist for the Bringing Baby Home program. She is also a full-time faculty member at North Seattle College where she teaches parent education classes to families raising children birth-5 years. In addition, Beth is a certified childbirth educator and formerly taught classes and ran postpartum support groups for Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, WA. She is married and the mother of two children.
