Dr. Scott Wolfe is a Clinical Psychologist and Senior Certified Gottman Method Couples Therapist, Trainer and Consultant. Dr. Wolfe has specialized in individual and couples counseling for over twenty-five years and has helped hundreds of couples and individuals struggle through their darkest times to find their full potential. Dr. Wolfe has trained with leading family therapists at his predoctoral internship with The University of California, San Francisco- Fresno Medical Education Program and at the California School of Professional Psychology-Fresno (APA Fully Approved) where he completed his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. Later he was on the Adjunct Faculty there and taught Marital and Family Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy on the graduate level.

Scott is a clinical psychologist who has been specializing in couples, family, and individual therapy for over 25 years. He first became aware of John Gottman’s research when completing his dissertation which was a longitudinal study of how couples adjust over their first year of marriage. He was so delighted to find out in the late 1990s that all of John’s incredible research that he had been reading over the years to inform his work with couples was now the basis of a research-based approach to treating couples. Scott attended the Level 1 training more than 10 years ago and he has been hooked ever since. Scott’s success rate with couples and his confidence in working with them dramatically increased. He became a Certified Gottman Therapist in 2006 and an Art & Science of Love Workshop Leader in 2007. He is also a Certified Gottman Trainer at Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3, and he presents Gottman clinical trainings for professionals on the east coast.

Consulting with clinicians who are pursuing certification is one of Scott’s favorite professional activities. His goal is to foster a safe learning environment where you will feel comfortable using case consultation and video reviewing to share your work and get important feedback. His aim is to help you master the core Gottman interventions necessary for certification and to develop confidence in the use of the Gottman Method. Since 1988 he has presented hundreds of talks to youth and parents as a youth worker, and later to recovering addicts as an addictions counsellor. After being Gottman certified in 2006, he has enjoyed presenting over 30 times in different Gottman trainings and workshops which include: The Art and Science of Love Gottman Workshops, teaching Level One and Two Gottman Method to other clinicians, delivering presentations at the Annual Gottman Conference, and ASL trainings. He also provides ongoing consultation for therapists working on certification. In 2012 he will be the first to present the Level 3 in Canada.

Once Darren discovered the Gottman Method of working with couples, he has done everything possible to learn as much as he could. Darren and his colleague, Lawrence Stoyanowski, have developed their entire practice around it called, bestmarriages.ca and have enjoyed presenting 20 Art and Science of Love workshops to further spread the Gottman word. He has presented a number of Gottman Level 1 and Level 2 workshops as well as talks on marketing tips at a couple of Gottman conferences. Now as a consultant Darren wants to help others feel very confident in using the method and eventually promoting it to their area. He will work with groups and individuals.

Darren has been in practice for 11 years and before that was working in various professional vocations including addiction counselling, youth and family work since 1988. He tends to work using a lot of creativity and encouragement to keep going when it things feel tough. He has a lot of experience with technology and loves helping people through this consultation process quickly and smoothly. Darren feels it is best to get right at using the method with clients and start taping sessions immediately just to get the bugs out and not lose motivation by waiting too long.

Darren is a real believer in learning by doing, making mistakes and talking about what to do better next time. Darren and his wife have been married since 1988 and they have 5 children — all girls – (some are foster children) so he has learned to be sensitive to any drama that might come our way.

Mike became a Certified Gottman Relationship Therapist in 2005. Since that time, he has led all 3 levels of Gottman trainings at The University of Chicago’s School of Social Service Administration’s Professional Development Program. He has also presented Chicago area Gottman Art and Science of Love Workshops, at least twice per year, since 2007. Mike founded The Chicago Relationship Center in 2014, which offers Gottman trainings and workshops, and has produced workshops led by Dan Wile, PhD.

Mike has taught at the doctorate level for over a decade. He was an affiliate professor at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and is currently a visiting instructor at The Institute for Clinical Social Work. He has taught couple therapy, psychopathology, international intervention, and trauma and attachment disorders. His other areas of clinical expertise include the emotional aspects of attention deficit disorder and learning disabilities.

Mike’s international training efforts have focused on Sri Lanka. Since the tsunami of 2004, he has traveled to Sri Lanka twice per year (21 times to date) to teach Sinhalese and Tamil lay counselors courses on basic counseling skills. He received Fulbright Specialist grants for his work in 2010, 2014, and 2015. He was one of the first Gottman therapists to lead Gottman trainings in a foreign country, and made presentations on his international training efforts at Gottman Conferences.

In additional, Mike has made presentations on The Gottman Method in the Chicago area at the Northshore University Health System’s Grand rounds, The Center on Halsted, and Illinois Psychological Association’s annual conference,  and other area hospitals and agencies.

His publications include “Dyslexia and the Life Course”, a feature article summarizing his research in the Journal of Learning Disabilities.

His teaching style is very collaborative. He hopes to help participants master the Gottman Method in a relaxed atmosphere, where they feel comfortable discussing concepts and sharing case examples.

Mike has over twenty years of experience as a clinical consultant. He enjoys working with Consultees who work with challenging situations. He approaches clinical work with a realistic and thoughtful perspective, hoping to connect with clients and couples in an empathetic and sensitive manner. Mike attempts to help his Consultees achieve these same goals, using the Gottman Method. In addition, Mike helps Consultees identify and pursue goals for professional growth and development. Michael Rediger, LICSW is a Certified Gottman Therapist and a Certified Gottman Workshop Leader. Since 2003, he has been a roving therapist at The Art and Science of Love workshops with Drs. John and Julie Gottman. He assisted for many years as a roving therapist at The Art and Science of Love 2 workshops and has been co-leading the workshop since 2014. A presenter of numerous lectures in the community about the research of Drs. John and Julie Gottman, Michael has been a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker since 1997. He has a private practice in downtown Seattle where he works with individuals and couples.

Michael was introduced to Gottman Method during his practicum year and quickly became enamored of it. He found that it gave him the competence and confidence to be a better couples therapist and the couples that he works with the skills they needed to improve their relationship. The consultation process was both challenging and supportive and it helped him to hone his skills as a couples therapist and to integrate Gottman Method into his practice. Prior to starting his private practice in Jacksonville in August of 2017, Michael worked in community mental health and substance abuse treatment for 13 years, the last 8 with the White Mountain Apache Tribe in Eastern Arizona. He also has experience in Latin America and is fluent in Spanish. Prior to his career in marriage and family therapy, Michael was in pastoral work for 17 years. He lived and worked in Peru for 10 years. One of his dreams is to train therapists in Gottman Method in Peru and in other parts of Latin America. As a clinician, Mary Beth’s passion is to aid couples in healing their relationships and spreading the Gottman message. She offers four modalities of Gottman Method™ Couples Therapy:  Couples counseling, marathon therapy, The Art & Science of Love Weekend Workshops and premarital counseling.  She has an interest in working with clients with LGBT concerns, Emotion Coaching skills for parents, women’s issues and couples affected by affairs. Mary Beth is passionate about the Gottman Method and has built a successful therapy practice around it. She loves seeing couples heal their relationships through counseling and marathon therapy, as well as The Art & Science of Love workshops, which she teaches four times per year. Mary Beth stays busy by conducting Gottman Trainer workshops at all levels, as well as working on an Emotion Coaching project for TGI. In addition to being a Licensed Professional Counselor, Mary Beth has worked for many years as a dietitian, often blending her two specialty areas. Her background is varied with clinical experiences in both inpatient and outpatient settings, teaching at Texas A & M University and managing a graduate level internship program, and working with unique populations including domestic violence and LGBT. She has a full-time private practice and primarily works with couples using the Gottman Method, as well as elements of Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, and Dan Wile’s Collaborative Couples Therapy. Marcia’s goal as a consultant is to make Certification Candidates feel comfortable, safe and encouraged in the certification learning experience. Although supervision through videotaping can be very challenging for clinicians, Marcia believes it is the most effective and accurate method to assess therapeutic skills and provide feedback to clinicians. Lisa Lund, LMFT is a Certified Gottman Therapist, Workshop Leader and Trainer.   She and her team at A Couple’s Place offer the Gottman “Art and Science of Love: Weekend Workshop for Couples” four times a year in Raleigh, North Carolina.  Lisa also trains therapists who want to learn the Gottman Method of Couples Counseling. Jonathan is also currently pursuing certification as an Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist, having completed an externship in EFT with Dr. Sue Johnson and the four EFT Core Skills workshops. Jonathan’s specialty in the field of couples therapy has led to several national speaking engagements, including a presentation for US Navy Seal Team Five, as well as a workshop at the national convention of the American Association for Marriage & Family Therapy. Jonathan created and has led several Couples Odyssey workshops for combat trauma survivors and their spouses on behalf of the Wounded Warrior Project. Prior to becoming a therapist Jonathan was an army officer in Germany, serving as a platoon leader of combat medics in a forward-deployed tank battalion, followed by service as the company commander of the 130th Station Hospital in Heidelberg during Operation Desert Storm.

As a presenter, Jonathan has an engaging, personable, and respectful style and enjoys using story and metaphor to help audiences easily comprehend the material and to motivate listeners to apply what they learn. As a clinician, Jonathan has a passion for helping distressed couples, abuse and trauma survivors, post-divorce families and stepfamilies, servicemembers and veterans, and couples recovering from betrayals of trust. John was the first Social Worker in Australia to become a Certified Gottman Therapist, Level 3 Trainer and Consultant. This means that John has completed all levels of training and mentoring available through the Gottman Institute in Seattle, USA and can now provide training to other therapists in this modality as well as provide couples with world-class couple workshop experiences. He is one of only a small group of therapists in the world to hold this standing.

John is a certified presenter for all levels of Gottman therapist training and The Art and Science of Love Couples Workshop. He has completed his Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment and has delivered a broad range of training both accredited and non-accredited. John has had a wonderful journey working with couples and families for over three decades. He is a Mental Health Accredited Social Worker and has completed a Masters in Gestalt Therapy. After years of conversations with his business partner they established the Relationship Institute Australasia in 2012. Their guiding principle is to use Gottman Method Couples Therapy to help people build, repair and rejuvenate strong, sustainable relationships. To this end John has been delivering Gottman training to therapists across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia, including Gottman Level 1, 2, 3 and the Art and Science of Love Workshop, as well as working as a relationship therapist in a busy private practice.

John has also continued to have a strong engagement in working with Australian Veterans and has a focus on trauma and PTSD for both the individual and in relation to the impact on relationships and families.
