Carole Cullen is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in North Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia. She is a Certified Gottman Therapist, Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist, and AAMFT Approved Supervisor based in Raleigh, North Carolina. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Stony Brook University in New York and her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hofstra University in New York.
Carole has been practicing for over 25 years, specializing in couples therapy, affair recovery, emotional connection, and trauma-informed work. She is the founder and owner of My-Therapist, Inc., a private practice providing individual, couples, and family therapy across North Carolina. In addition to weekly couples therapy, Carole offers Couples Intensives, clinical supervision, coaching, and professional workshops. She is an Art and Science of Love workshop presenter and integrates Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy, blending research-based models and neuroscience to help couples rebuild trust, intimacy, and emotional connection.
Carole is also the founder and clinical director of the Clinical Training Program at My-Therapist, where she provides supervision and advanced training for graduate students, associate-level therapists, and licensed clinicians. In recognition of her contributions to training and supervision, Carole was awarded the Excellence in Marriage and Family Therapy Training Award by NCAMFT in 2018.
Carole regularly provides consultation for therapists seeking to deepen their skills in couples therapy and leads supervision groups integrating Gottman, EFT, and EMDR approaches.
Prior to founding My-Therapist, Carole worked in a variety of clinical settings, including the World Trade Center Family Center, providing therapy and crisis response to law enforcement officers and their families after 9/11. She continues to collaborate with first responder organizations, the North Carolina Victims Assistance Network (NCVAN), and community groups to support couples and families navigating high-stress environments.
Outside of her therapy practice, Carole and her therapy dog Winston form a certified Pet Therapy Team, visiting schools, senior centers, corporate offices, and community events to bring comfort and smiles to individuals of all ages.
Carole and her husband Chris have been married for 21 years and have two children. Their son Matthew is in college studying Business Administration, and their daughter Sophia is in high school studying Animal Science.
