Carolyn Russell

Carolyn is a Family Doctor in Brisbane, Australia, having worked in her own practice for many years prior to training as an MBT (Mentalisation Based Therapy) therapist, and now as a Certified Gottman Therapist and Advanced Clinical Trainer.  She has three grown children and some grandchildren, who she ‘loves to love’ with her husband, who with her is a keen cyclist, and kayaker, and is also developing a garden and orchard to share with others.

Her delight has been to serve her local community as their family doctor, especially caring ‘across generations’ and with End-of-Life care. Now as a couples therapist she serves her community where people have mental health or physical challenges bringing stressors and comorbidities to their relationships.  She is particularly interested in how the Spiritual lives of her clients are worked out in their relationships, as she is often called on to work with clergy and/or those in leadership in Christian denominations.

She is excited to work with therapists who seek certification in Gottman Couples Therapy Method and would particularly invite persons with backgrounds as medical/paramedical clinicians, or those who work in Christian settings or are keen to explore Spiritual dimensions in their work.
