The Gottman Method has transformed Elizabeth’s practice and given her confidence in working with couples. Teaching has always been an integral part of Elizabeth’s professional life and she would be delighted to assist you with your consultation process, to help you prepare your certification videos, to give you effective feedback, and to help you develop your clinical skills in the Gottman Method. Her goal in the consultation process is to provide you with a safe environment and an insightful framework in which to develop professionally. She wants your experience to be challenging and rewarding.

Elizabeth was born in Canada but has lived in The Netherlands for over 20 years. She first studied design and worked for many years as a designer and design teacher before changing course and completing a Master’s in
counselling. In private practice she works mostly with expat couples. As such, she is very familiar with the unique aspects of working with multicultural and multilingual clients. Elizabeth is also the staff welfare officer for a UN international organization where she is responsible for developing mental health programs and the psycho-social care for staff in The Netherlands and the Middle East. Finally, she works as a consultant in the gender and children’s unit at the International Criminal Court in The Hague where she has gained a deep understanding of trauma.
