My wife and I have been married for 7 years and were beginning to suffer from that, "Is that all there is?" syndrome. Our minister suggested that we attend Dr. Gottman’s talk on 7 Principles for Making Marriage Work. During the evening he encouraged all of us to take a look at the condition of our "Marital House" and we found that our foundation of "fondness, respect and admiration" for one another was one of the keys to maintaining that "newlywed" state of mind. Since that evening, we’ve made it a practice to keep up on our "Love Maps" and find that we’re constantly learning new things about one another. We found that there really is "more and we hope to become one of the "Master" couples in Dr. Gottman’s research. ON TELEVISION: CBS NEWS |
