Although The Gottman Institute cannot make any guarantee regarding the effectiveness of therapy, every Certified Gottman Therapist listed will be a highly trained professional who is independently licensed or certified in their state, province or country.

Please Consider: For many couples, our Two-Day Couples Workshop is the most appropriate first step toward getting help. The Couples Workshop allows you to get a lot work done in a short period of time, for a small amount of money. The workshops are clinically confidential; there is no group work or sharing with other couples. Each couple has their own "private little nest" where you work privately on your real-life relationship. Our Certified Gottman Therapists are there to work one-on-one with couples throughout the weekend. Many couples find that they do not need private therapy after attending the workshop. But for those couples who do want to pursue private therapy afterwards, this workshop allows couples to meet our therapists and then self-select a therapist with whom to do private therapy. Using the 'Find-A-Therapist' Map:  You can find a Certified Gottman Therapist* who is a member of the Relationship Center and Referral Network in your area by selecting a state highlighted in blue on the map below.  Please call the therapist directly to inquire about fees, availability, and/or insurance.  If there is currently not a therapist in your area, please check back periodically. There are nearly100 therapists currently in Gottman Certification Training who will be added to this map immediately as they become a Certified Gottman Relationship Center and Referral Network Member. 

*Certified Gottman Therapists are all licensed or certified therapists who practice independently in their state, province, or country and are not supervised or monitored by Drs. John and Julie Gottman or The Gottman Institute. However, each has been specifically trained by Drs. John and Julie Gottman to provide Gottman Method Couples Therapy. These therapists have paid an administrative fee to become a member of the Relationship Center and Referral Network.
